I came across these two headlines, one after the other, on my Google News aggregator. Somehow, steeled as I am to the daily consequences of walking this earth, they stunned me. You may find them ordinary and unworthy of comment.

A Family of 5 Lives in a Car As They Save for Housing in a Good School District.

Which I suppose is a touchstone to American society as we practice it today. I don’t know what it means. Maybe you know. Maybe someone knows.
