If anything has not worked--in spectacular fashion--it has been the layering of agency upon agency in the "promise her anything, but give her Arpege" version of beefing up national security. We are a laughingstock--bumping into one another, unable to communicate between agencies, bribing state and local police departments with goodies that have more strings attached than a piano.
Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff's personal dynasty, is the national and international department of buffoonery.
Mike Pick (whoever the hell he is) is the latest in the pick-of-the-month club and, as they say, you can pick your friends and pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose.
The Defense Intelligence Agency is going to prove that yet again.
