Pat Buchanan wants to preserve the dominance of the white race in America. Now where the hell's my white sheet?
Richard Nixon is gone, but his legacy marches on. Old, unreconstructed Nixonites show their nasty visages thirty years after that dusty curtain was supposed to have come down in the failed policies of Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, Richard Perle and Pat Buchanan.
The first three are reactionary interventionists who carried (and carry yet) the country to the edge of Armageddon. So far as can be seen and so much as can be surmised, only Pat Buchanan (among the foursome teeing off on American tradition) is an out-and-out racist.
Pat’s got a book to flog, as does Ann Coulter and neither will ever want for a talk-show venue. Both of them favor and savor the off-the-wall statement. Right-wing hysteria is a big seller almost anytime, but particularly with the mid-term elections coming up. Apparently outrageous accusation is good for circulation (both literary and venous). Getting the blood up by pandering to our baser prejudice is never a failed marketing strategy.
But hate-mongering and race-baiting kick the legs of rational discussion out from under any confrontation with Buchanan. How can such an ordinary looking man be so devoid of any trace of God’s love? A kindly old uncle, who would serve up his neighbor for breakfast and wonder at your lack of appetite.
In his new book, State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America, Buchanan calls for an immediate moratorium on all immigration. How come, Pat? What's up with that? Hardly able to wait for his his answer to that, (fortunately) it takes us no longer than page 11 to find out.

America faces an existential crisis. If we do not get control of our borders, by 2050 Americans of European descent will be a minority in the nation their ancestors created and built. No nation has ever undergone so radical a demographic transformation and survived. Only whites have the appropriate “genetic endowments” to keep America from collapsing.
Genetic endowments or not, who told this man that no nation survived radical demographic transformation? Being a white European isn't such an honor as Europe slides further into problematic rack and occasional ruin. Somebody please get this man a seeing-eye dog or simply show him the way home so he can mutter incoherently in his back yard.
Buchanan's niftier statements and cleverest outrages include
AIDS is nature's retribution for violating the laws of nature.
Women are simply not endowed (he's fascinated by that adjective) by nature with the same measures of single-minded ambition and the will to succeed in the fiercely competitive world of Western capitalism.
Dr. (Martin Luther) King was a fraud and a demagogue and perhaps worse.... One of the most divisive men in contemporary history.
Amazing. Simply amazing. But it takes a lot of outrageous mouthiness to stay in the public eye today and such venues as MSNBC and The McLaughlin Group keep the buzz buzzing. Come to think of it, flies also buzz over the kind of crap that comes out of Pat.
Somebody please, take him out with the garbage.
