You can drive there now, but it's 240 miles north of Anchorage. Susan and I drove to Anchorage from Chicago and that was an "oof, when do we get there Trip."
Busses wouldn't work for me. I want all roads planted with grasses and only available to emergency vehicles.

We were very happy the year they had to close the north entrance to the Park. However, it was a huge hit on those businesses.
