ATLANTA -- Nearly one in four people in the Atlanta area are exercise enthusiasts stuck in neighborhoods without sidewalks or other walking amenities, according to a study that illustrates a problem for many Americans. Researchers said the findings point to the need for more exercise-friendly places to live.
"The bottom line is the built environment really does matter to health," said Lawrence Frank, a University of British Columbia researcher who led the study.

So, which is more detrimental to health, old pal, the built environment, the fast-food environment, the TV environment, the sit-on-your-ass environment or the other three people who make up the 'one in four?'
The bottom line is that we really have too much money floating around for researchers to dream up arcane studies and then present them as immediate threats.
This particular study might have more efficiently been 'led' over to the library, where a fascinating and complete book has already been produced by James Kunstler, titled; Geography of Nowhere: The Rise and Decline of America's Man-Made Landscape
