"We’re peeing on the electric fence in Ukraine" I couldn't have said it better. I chalk this up to flat out cowardice and it is a terrible thing to see. State Department types in the Biden administration were absolutely set on letting Putin get away with an invasion and forcing Ukraine into a "negotiated settlement" from the start. they've been determined to see that it happens and will not move off of a losing position - for Ukraine, Europe - and us.
Zelenskyy cannot negotiate. If he does, his government and democracy in Ukraine falls. I truly believe that there can be only one end to the war - a catastrophic defeat of Putin's army in the field. The Ukrainians could well do it - if we have the courage to let them save their nation.
Putin looks in the mirror and sees "Vladimir the Great." He's shown us Vlad the Impaler. I actually posted that a few weeks ago... Now we see him posturing as the heir to Peter the Great and Biden is happy to let him do it. You me and everyone we know could well pay for this for a generation - with luck. I find it fitting that this conflict began with a meeting in Munich...
